Spain

On the Spain pages, the key points are that the general government EDP debt is the euro-area standard, and that it is read together with the fiscal deficit and the risk premium.

EDP Debt (deuda PDE)

General government debt under the Excessive Deficit Procedure. It is the Maastricht definition harmonised by Eurostat and is the definition used by the Spain clock on this site.

Fiscal Deficit (déficit público)

The shortfall of general government revenue against spending. Expressed as a share of GDP, it is read against the euro-area reference threshold (3%).

Risk Premium (prima de riesgo)

The gap between the yield on Spanish 10-year bonds and German bunds. It signals how the market views Spanish sovereign credit.

Interpolated Estimate

An estimate that connects official release points with an annual growth rate between publication dates.
