WorldRealDebt is an independent project that visualises and explains public macroeconomic statistics. Data corrections, citation and press requests, advertising and partnership proposals, privacy requests and technical questions all come through the two channels below. This page says which channel is faster for which purpose and what to include so we can act quickly.
Channels
[email protected] — the default channel for everything. Requests that contain personal data, advertising or partnership proposals and press enquiries that need discretion are accepted by email only.
GitHub Issues
https://github.com/eightynine01/WorldRealDebt/issues — best for data errors, bugs and feature ideas, where a publicly traceable record helps. Everything from intake to the fixing commit stays visible in the public repository. Please do not post personal data there.
By purpose
Data errors and corrections
Include the page URL, the indicator name, the value currently shown, the value you expected, the official source URL that supports it and that source's release date. Screenshots alone rarely let us trace the cause. Our correction criteria, procedure and the log of confirmed corrections are published on the corrections page (/corrections/); confirmed corrections flow into the indicator's base value, reference date and API responses.
Citation, press and research use
To quote a figure in an article, paper or report, use the snapshot API, which pins a point in time, together with the standard citation format. Formats, logos and embed code are on the press page (/press/). Press enquiries that need an interview or further explanation should come by email.
Advertising and partnerships
Advertising on the site is served only through Google AdSense; we do not accept advertorials, sponsored content or affiliate links (see the editorial policy). Non-advertising proposals, such as data provision or joint research, are welcome by email.
Privacy requests
Requests to delete a guestbook post or to access or correct information are accepted by email. Including the time of writing, the display name and the page URL speeds up verification. The criteria and your rights are set out in the privacy policy (/privacy/).
API and embed widget
Questions about response formats, field meanings or widget behaviour belong in GitHub Issues. Endpoints and field descriptions for the public JSON API are documented at /api-docs/. If you suspect an outage, check the data pipeline on the status page (/status/) first.
Response times
We aim for a first reply within five business days of receipt. Privacy requests and data corrections are handled first, and privacy requests receive an outcome within 30 days. As a volunteer-run project we cannot promise an immediate reply, and we will tell you first if verification needs longer. We answer in Korean and English; enquiries in other languages are welcome but may be answered in English.
Who operates this site
The site is run and maintained directly by the WorldRealDebt operating team. Editorial responsibility for data curation lies with the WorldRealDebt Editorial Team described in the editorial policy (/editorial-policy/), and the same team answers enquiries. We use the public channels above rather than personal contact details so that correspondence is held at the organisation level and continues even when individual members change.
What we do not answer
The site provides no investment, lending or tax advice and does not answer questions about individual financial decisions. We also decline requests to endorse a party or policy and any proposal that involves encouraging ad clicks.
