Privacy policy

WorldRealDebt is a site that visualises public macroeconomic data. It can be used without registering an account, and simply reading indicators such as government debt, household debt or GDP requires no personal details. A limited amount of technical data may nevertheless be processed for advertising, analytics, comments and security logging.

Data that may be collected

The server and the CDN may process basic connection data such as the time of the request, the requested URL, the IP address, the user agent, the referrer and error logs. If you use the comment feature, the name you enter, the text of your comment, the time it was written and the country page it belongs to may be stored.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

This site may use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad quality, prevent click fraud and deliver personalised or non-personalised advertising. You can manage the use of personalised advertising in your browser settings or in Google Ad Settings.

Analytics

Where Google Analytics is configured for a deployment, page views, referrers, device information, approximate location and event data may be processed for statistical purposes. This data is used to understand site quality, errors and popular pages rather than to identify individual visitors.

Retention and deletion

Security logs and CDN logs may be retained for as long as necessary for operations and abuse prevention. If you want a comment you wrote to be deleted or corrected, you can request it through GitHub Issues. Clear errors, exposed personal data and spam may be deleted or hidden by the operator.
